Capacity Building

• Training new teachers in classroom conflict resolution skills
• Creating strong meeting and decision-making processes for municipal councils, community organizations
• Reinforcing collaborative problem-solving skills for teams

Approach and Outcomes
One of the most important ways to create sustainable healthy communities and partnerships is through training and capacity building. Expertise in facilitation, mediation, negotiation and/or designing participatory projects are vital skills for improving the ability of communities, schools, organizations and government to constructively deal with conflict.

Similarly, the organizational capacity to write funding applications, project proposals, develop effective partnerships and do ongoing evaluations are all key for professional implementation of grants and ensuring continued funding.

Beyond skills and partnerships building, capacity building also involves the opportunity to more deeply analyze the issues that are affecting local contexts, be it food security, gender and power, governance, and/or human rights.
